Travel healthA strong start
to your first term
The Starting University Check-in is a 30-minute online appointment that brings your health together in one place before term gets busy. It suits anyone moving away from home for the first time, as well as students returning for a new year.
What we cover
Your GP goes through your medical history, any conditions or allergies, and the medication you take, so your prescriptions continue smoothly. You can talk through contraception, and your GP reviews the vaccines recommended for new students, including MenACWY, HPV and MMR.
Your vaccinations
The vaccines recommended for new students are free through your NHS GP. We check what you've had, tell you what you need and explain where to get it.
After your check-in
You leave with clear next steps and a GP who already knows your history, so any future appointment starts from where you left off.
