Who we help

"Just bad periods"
isn't good enough

Delays of 4 to 10 years commonly occur between women first reporting symptoms and endometriosis being confirmed — frequently because pelvic pain is perceived as a normal part of having periods.

Our medical approach
"A normal scan does not rule out endometriosis. Ongoing symptoms deserve continued investigation, not dismissal."
01
My period pain isn't "normal" and I know it

A proper, unhurried assessment that takes your reported pain seriously from the first conversation.

02
I've had a normal scan but symptoms continue

A normal ultrasound doesn't end the investigation — some forms of endometriosis are genuinely difficult to detect this way.

03
I want to understand my actual options

From pain management to specialist surgical referral, discussed honestly based on your priorities.

Why Her Healthcare

Not a simple GP appointment — persistent, on purpose

👂
Reported pain, taken seriously

Your description of your own symptoms is the starting point for investigation, not something to be minimised.

🔬
Ultrasound offered even if exam is normal

Transvaginal ultrasound is appropriate even when a physical examination doesn't reveal anything — and a normal scan doesn't end the conversation either.

🧭
A clear referral pathway when needed

Where specialist input or surgical assessment is appropriate, this is coordinated directly, not left to you to arrange.

🌿
The wider impact, acknowledged

Chronic pain affects daily life, work, relationships and mental health — considered as part of the whole picture, not set aside.

🔒
Completely private and confidential

Independent of the NHS throughout, with your record held privately and never shared without your explicit consent.

📄
A written plan, not just reassurance

You leave with concrete next steps, whatever stage of investigation or treatment you're at.

How your care is coordinated

Know, understand,
act — without the wait

1
Know

A full history of your pain and symptoms, taken as genuine clinical evidence — not dismissed as "normal."

2
Understand

Investigation via ultrasound and clinical assessment, with a clear explanation of what a normal result does and doesn't mean.

3
Act

A plan covering pain management, treatment options, and referral where appropriate — not an indefinite wait-and-see.

Transparent pricing

Clear costs, no surprises

We believe knowing the price upfront is part of feeling safe and respected. What you see is what you pay.

Common questions

Everything you need to know

Why does endometriosis take so long to diagnose?+

Diagnosis delays of 4 to 10 years between first reporting symptoms and confirmation are well documented, often because pelvic pain is normalised or attributed to "just bad periods." We take reported pain seriously from the first consultation.

Do I need a laparoscopy to be diagnosed?+

Not necessarily as a first step. Transvaginal ultrasound is typically offered first, even if a physical examination is normal. Laparoscopy may be considered for definitive diagnosis where appropriate.

What if my scan comes back normal?+

A normal scan does not rule out endometriosis. Some forms are difficult to detect on ultrasound, and ongoing symptoms should continue to be investigated rather than dismissed.

Is this the same as period pain?+

No. While endometriosis often causes pain around periods, it can also cause pain at other times, painful bowel movements or urination, and pain during sex — pain significant enough to affect daily life is not something to simply endure.

What treatment options are available?+

Options range from pain management and hormonal treatments through to specialist surgical referral where appropriate — discussed based on your symptoms and priorities.

How much does this cost?+

£200 for a full 60-minute consultation with a GMC-registered GP. View our full fee schedule.

About this consultation

Persistent pelvic pain,
properly investigated

This is not a simple GP appointment. Endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain are still marked by significant diagnostic delay — commonly 4 to 10 years between a woman first reporting symptoms and a confirmed diagnosis, frequently because pain is perceived as a normal part of menstruation.

Investigation, taken seriously from the start

Transvaginal ultrasound is offered as a first-line investigation, even where a physical examination appears normal, to look for ovarian endometriomas and deep endometriosis. Critically, a normal scan does not rule out the condition — some forms are genuinely difficult to detect this way, and ongoing symptoms warrant continued investigation.

A clear pathway, not an indefinite wait

Where appropriate, laparoscopy may be considered for a definitive diagnosis, and specialist referral is coordinated directly rather than left for you to arrange independently.

What happens after your appointment

You leave with a written plan covering pain management, treatment options, and next steps — whatever stage of investigation you're currently at.
